원시, Far-sightedness(Hyperopia)

눈에서 멀리 떨어져 있는 물체를 잘 볼 수 있지만, 눈에서 가까이 있는 물체를 잘 볼 수 없는 시력을 원시라고 한다.

원시의 원인

대부분의 원시의 원인은 확실히 모른다.
어떤 물체를 볼 때 안구 속으로 들어오는 영상의 초점이 눈의 각막과 렌즈를 통과해서 망막에 영상이 생기는 것이 정상이다.
그러나 눈의 렌즈의 굴절력이 비정상적으로 약할 때 그 영상의 초점이 망막의 뒤쪽 부위에 생긴다.
이 때 원시가 생길 수 있다.
렌즈 자체의 굴절력이 비정상적으로 약할 때도 원시가 생길 수 있고, 렌즈가 정상 위치보다 더 뒤쪽 부위에 있을 때도 원시가 생길 수 있다.

원시의 증상 징후

경미한 원시가 있을 때는 눈에서 멀리 떨어진 물체와 가까이 있는 물체를 어느 정도 잘 볼 수 있다.
그렇지만 심한 원시가 있는 눈으로 가까이 있는 물체를 볼 때 볼 물체의 영상을 뚜렷하게 만들기 위해 눈에 힘을 많이 주어야 한다.
그래서 머리가 아프고 쉽게 피로할 수 있다.
근시가 있을 때와 같이 원시가 있는 눈을 찌푸릴 수 있고 그 눈에 사시가 있는 것같이 보일 수도 있다.
심한 원시가 있는 아이들은 책을 오랫동안 읽으면 쉽게 피로하기 때문에 책을 오랫동안 읽기를 싫어하고 눈을 자주 비빈다.

원시의 진단 치료

병력, 증상 징후와 진찰소견 등을 종합하여 원시가 있다고 의심하면, 안과 전문의로부터 눈과 시력을 검사 받아 원시를 진단치료 받아야 한다.
원시의 정도에 따라 볼록 렌즈 안경으로 치료한다.

Far-sightedness (Hyperopia)

• Farsightedness is the ability to see objects farther away from the eye well, but unable to see objects close to the eye well.

Cause of hyperopia

• The cause of most hyperopia is unknown.

• When looking at an object, it is normal for the focus of the image entering the eyeball to pass through the cornea and lens of the eye to form an image on the retina.

• However, when the refractive power of the lens of the eye is abnormally weak, the focus of the image occurs on the back part of the retina.

• Hyperopia may occur at this time.

• Hyperopia can also occur when the refractive power of the lens itself is abnormally weak, or when the lens is positioned further back than its normal position.

Symptoms, signs of hyperopia

• With mild farsightedness, you can see objects farther away from your eyes and objects that are close to your eyes with some degree of difficulty.

• However, when looking at a nearby object with an eye with severe farsightedness, it is necessary to apply a lot of force to the eye to make the image of the object to be seen clear.

• So you have a headache and you can get tired easily.

• As with nearsightedness, the farsighted eye may frown and appear to have strabismus.

• Children with severe farsightedness do not like to read for a long time and rub their eyes frequently because they get tired easily after reading for a long time.

Diagnosis, treatment of hyperopia

• If you suspect that you have farsightedness based on your medical history, symptoms, and examination findings, you should have your eyes and vision checked by an ophthalmologist to diagnose and treat your hyperopia.

• Treatment with convex lens glasses depending on the degree of hyperopia.
